Where Did It Start?
Sometimes big ideas and big plans come from little conversations.
In late winter of 2004, we had one of those "little conversations."
It started with
the question, "What would you do if you won the lottery?" There was another question asked,
"What do you envision us doing after retirement?"
Both of those questions were answered with, "I'd buy an RV and travel the country."

Steve, Kay & Bryan Albrecht of Chandler, AZ
Steve was most recently a Regional Construction Manager for
consumer electronics retailer
Ultimate Electronics.
He has an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems and experience as a
software engineer and radio personality.
Kay has a Master's Degree in Secondary
English Education and, most recently, a high school special
education teacher in Scottsdale, Arizona. She also
taught evening classes at Mesa Community College and worked part-time at
Barnes & Noble.
Bryan is a 13-year-old student, photographer and video game
aficionado.

We recently took leave
of our jobs and classes, put our house on the market, and embarked on a 6-month
trip around the USA. Thank you for visiting our site. We hope that you will return often to track our progress and communicate with us
as we experience Albrecht Adventure 2006!

What I Know About RVs
We ultimately chose not to undertake our Adventure in an RV. We're traveling in our 2002 Red Chevy Avalanche Z71 4x4. Bryan likes to point out, "an 18-footer with no slides...sleeps 1 when the back seat is empty!" The
original plan was to get an RV. For the year leading up to the trip, we referred to it as
our "RV Adventure."
